From 2002 to 2004, Edgar Silva lived on Belém do Pará, where he was the founder of the biggest Java User Group in Amazon Region on Brazil, which its name is BelJUG. He gave a lot of presentations, training and consultancy services, getting to that regions special services, allowing a lot of companies and people to use Java recentlly.
Great companies, from gov to priavte, a couple of them are using Java technologies, and BelJUG was a big channel to transmit the trust to that. Nice examples like: Traffic Department -Detran, Auditoria Geral do Estado-AGE, Aslan and other, are Java successful histories in the region.
In addition, BelJUG leave Java to almost all universities and learning centers in the region, for example: UFPA, Unama, Cesupa, IESAM and more.
Right now, BelJUG is becoming in Soujava-Belém, to make and to joing with a the biggest Java Community in the world.
