Hard- and Software Engineer

My main profession is to develop hardware, mainly audio-visual systems, PayVideo^? equipment
and small control systems - most of them incorporating MicroControllers^?. As creating
hardware often means that you have to create software too (even more in the past few years)
I had no chance to turn my head from programming. I coded in BASIC, then Assembler (still
used for really time critical applications), a short trip to ALGOL during my university
time followed, later came PASCAL, then C/C++ and now Java...

As I am also producing TeleText^?-Coders/Inserters (TeleText^? = VideoText^? in germany),
my last 'trial' on Java was to create a Java applet that is able to display TeleText^?
pages on a web page - and to present them just like they would be seen on a TV screen.
