The TranslatedFiles (http://translatedfiles.netbeans.org/) project is part of the internationalization effort to offer a full localised version of NetBeans?.
Workgroups WikiPages
People behind the scenes
There are many localizations currently going on in translatedfiles module, each being in different state of completeness. I think we should have some page with a list posted of all translators for NetBeans? by language, giving recognition to the folks working on the language translations, and also anyone new looking to work on a native language would know who to contact. Below is a list of people with Developer (read-write) access to translatedfiles CVS.
French
NetBeans.org localization actually started with French localization, held by translatedfiles Project Owner
- Vincent Brabant (vbrabant)
- with the help of Xavier Outhier
Currently Vincent is contributing much in netbeans.org website translation, maintains a localized mailing list and promotes NetBeans? in French developer community.
He is now translating the draft version of chapters of the new book in french and migrating all french documents to http://fr.netbeans.org
A new wiki page for workgroup of french translator has been launched. Traduction Francaise
Russian
Russian translation is going on, held by
- Maxym Mykhalchuk (mihmax)

- Milos Kleint (mkleint)
- Wang Yi (wangyi)
- Yang Yu (yangyu)
They still hang around helping other Chinese NetBeans? users in mailing lists.
Traditional Chinese
Traditional Chinese spoken in Taiwan is represented by
Japanese
The strong community of Japanese NetBeans? users exists, habitating on http://www.netbeans.jp. Translatedfiles module has the following comminity Japanese developers:
- Sohei Abe (sohei)
- David Choong-Wai Fu (fchoong)
- teik (real name unknown)
