As the new Java.net infrastructure contains project-level wikis, this main wiki will be shut down in the near future. For wiki page export and general wiki questions please contact the site admin at communitymanager@java.net. SPOTs Hardware
Welcome to the SPOTs Hardware Wiki page.
We have just open sourced six add-on board designs to java.net and
they can be found at https://spots-hardware.dev.java.net/
The gerbers from these designs can be sent to a PC board house to make the PC boards.
Parts can be purchased online and sent with the PC boards to a contract manufacture (CM) for assembly.
There are a few CMs that are set up to do prototype assembly, although most want to do at least 100 units.
Prices go down dramatically for higher quantity for parts, PC boards and assembly.
The boards could be hand assembled; however, given the fine pitch parts we needed to use, it would be a challenge.
One aspect of this wiki is to explore alternatives. Issues and questions with eDemo board or
the main eSPOT board should go to forums
Several folks contribute and not all of the projects use the same design tools.
At some point I should update the front list but for now here is a list of projects, the subversion directory and the design tools used.
