Questions on JAX-RPC, SAAJ and JAXB
Q: What do these names stand for?
Q: Why should I care about these projects?
Q: When will the sources for JAXB, JAX-RPC and SAAJ be contributed?
Later this year. Sorry, we wish we could give you a more concrete date but we don't want to promise a date and then fail to meet it. We will keep you updated. -- EduardoPelegri - 10 Jun 2003
Q: What license will Sun use for the JAXB, JAX-RPC and SAAJ contributions?
An open source license listed in the java.net guidelines. We were down to a couple but we could not decide before our launch date. We expect to decide this relatively soon. -- EduardoPelegri - 10 Jun 2003
Q: Why are you calling your implementations a Standard Implementation?
We are using the term Standard Implementation instead of Reference Implementation to emphasize that, unlike some other Reference Implementations, these are production quality. -- EduardoPelegri - 12 Jun 2003
Q: Will Sun have their own separate code repositories for JAX-RPC, SAAJ and JAXB?
No. Our development will happen here. Sun has had much experience with Open Source and we will take advantage of that experience in our JaxDevelopmentProcess. -- EduardoPelegri - 12 Jun 2003
