Mac OS X provides support for J2SE 1.3.1, 1.4.2 and 5.0 based applications and applets. J2SE 1.4.2 is supported on Mac OS X 10.3.1 or higher. Java 1.4.2 Release 2 provides J2SE 1.4.2_09 compatibility. See Apple's Java Developer site and Getting Started With Java for more information. With the release of Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger), Java 2 v5 is supported (10.4 is required). Mac OS X 10.4 includes Java 1.4.2 providing J2SE 1.4.2_07 compatibility.
