IMPORTANT: Further development of JDNC is on-hold pending the stabilization and release of the SwingX and Databinding sub-projects of SwingLabs. Release 0.7 of JDNC is the latest stable release.
The Java Desktop Network Components project is building a small set of very high-level components that can be turned into applets or Web-started applications with little or no Java coding, and without the help of experts on elements of J2SE? such as Swing, networking, or threading. The components can be use in traditional Java applications, or they can be combined using an XML-based description language. This latter approach has been refined to the point where examples of the common desktop application archetypes can be created with just a few lines of XML by a developer without any Java skills at all.
