My name is John Bobowicz, or just "jbob" to most people, and I am one of the founders of java.net.

I was also the original Community Manager for it's first two years before becoming the java.net CTO
and launching the java.net Partner program. That seems like ages ago, but still among my most fond
memories of Sun Microsystem.

I am now the VP of Sales and Marketing for Gorilla Logic, Inc.. That put me back into Java land and
reunited me with a bunch of ex-Sun friends and colleagues. Remember the Sun Java Center days? Well,
many of us are reunited at Gorilla with CEO Stu Stern (Founder of Sun Java Centers) and Co-Founder
Ed Schwarz (NYC Java Center & Global e-Business Practice). It's great to be back with the most talented

Starting in July 2004, I am undertaking the newly created role of java.net Chief Technologist. In this role, I will be getting more involved within the community and focusing on the technologies of java.net. This includes letting the world know about cool technologies and projects on java.net as well as looking for cool and new technologies to join java.net. I'll get to write more code in this role and tinker with new technologies and that should be fun! I will also be working to get more involvement out of the "Java Industry" and hopefully recruit more companies and industry groups to join and contribute.
